Voyage en tête étrangère (04/22)

Seconde parution pour And More cette année avec ce "Voyage en tête étrangère"..

J'ai toujours aimé cette formule qui vient d'une BD de Daniel Hulet sorti chez M.C. Productions en 1992.

Nous irons donc faire un petit tour dans les têtes d' Eric in the Kitchen, qui vient de sortir un 6 titres,

d' Emmanuele Gattuso et de son album "Flashlight" ou encore de Mark Stewart et de son "VS" bien entouré.

Un hommage en vidéo pour la fascinante Mira Calix, qui nous a malheureusement quitté...

Quelques infos par ci, par là, finiront par remplir nos têtes bien avide de nouveautés..

Commençons par Eric in the Kitchen et "The Things We Do No More EP". 6 titres.

Deux ans ou presque après le single "Take the Lead" qui figure d'ailleurs sur ce ep et plus de trois ans après le "Calendar Project".

Un six titres à la hauteur de nos attentes qui démarre très bien avec une balade et les choses que nous ne faisons plus,

que nous ne ferons plus, ou peut être que si..

"The High End" me rappel combien j'aime écouter les Kitchen's et rentrer dans cet univers.

"Take the Lead" suivi de "Falls Theory", plus expérimental et teinté d'electro annonce très bien la venue de "Yayayaya" plus "énervé" dirons nous,

pour finir sur une autre balade "Driving Home" qui clore assurément bien ce mini album.

Peut être un peu trop court, on envie d'en savoir plus !!

Emmanuele Gattuso "Flashlight". 8 titres.

Venant d'Italie, le travail d'Emmanuele relie l'écriture de chansons lofi, des boucles lourdes rognant vers l'industriel et l'électronique.

Chuchotements, tonalité grave inquiétante, morosité et surtout un "savoir faire" indéniable.

Un morceaux comme "Candles" magnifiquement mis en place et très créatif nous conduit jusqu'au titre phare "Flashlight",

superbe composition nous emmenant dans une ambiance édulcorée et changeante.

"Dub Soup" ou encore le bonus track avec Giorgio Valentino "The Temptation of Saint Giorgio" sont là pour nous le démontrer avec ferveur !!

VS. 10 titres. paru chez eMERGENCY heARTS est un projet collaboratif unique dirigé par Mark Stewart.

Chanteur, producteur et auteur-compositeur, figure anarchique et pionnière aux frontières de la musique post-punk,

industrielle, avant-dub et électronique depuis l'ère punk.

Chaque morceau est un mélange forcé qui oppose Stewart à un artiste qui est à l'origine, propage et/ou défend actuellement les intentions esthétiques, culturelles et sociopolitiques incendiaires de cette époque, y compris les membres de Cabaret Voltaire, Consolidated, Pan Sonic et les Minutemen.

Avec le regretté Lee Perry, mais aussi Adrian Sherwood, Front 242 et KK Null entre autres.

Cette musique est censée résonner avec "La poussière d'étoile brute dans vos os - la chaleur ancienne dans votre sang."

Commençons par KASA DE ORATES qui nous vient du Chili avec un album

qui se nomme "Kawsay" (6tracks)  sorti il y a peu..

Kawsay est un album lié à la vie inspiré des cultures ancestrales et de la relation avec les animaux et la nature.

C'est un voyage profond vers ces sons déjà perdus dans cet univers.

Manuel Knwell (aka Kasa de Orates) utilise sur cette album des instruments tel que :

Cascahuillas, Xylophone de bambou, bâtons d’eau, différentes cloches tibétaines, chiliennes, péruviennes, indiennes aux Ottomans, graines, maraca, flûte cérémonielle, tarka, ocarina, yembe, nectar de batterie, différents types de flûtes, percutions, cloche Mapuche,

kultrún, sons d'oiseaux enregistrés dans la jungle en Équateur et à Chillán (Chili),

zampoñas, archet de violon, bol en quartz, bols tibétains, sons de baleines,

shaker à graines, sons de hyènes. cymbale splash Zildjian série K,

clavier Kurzweil KME61. ANS virtuel et synthétiseur Yamaha CS10.

Le concept et la production de Kawsay est réalisée par Manuel Knwell lui même.

Pas mal d'intervenants sur cet opus (+ d'infos en suivant les liens)

On peut entendre aussi "Le Bateau ivre" d'Arthur Rimbaud sur le morceaux Chakal.

Un album très réussi et à découvrir ici même.

Attendez vous à un voyage d'où l'on ne revient pas de suite..

Enki Bilal and Erik Truffaz met in summer 2012, under the watchful eye of the zebra enthroned in his studio.
Therefore, supported by images and the scenario of Enki Bilal, the Murcof-Truffaz duo made every minute of music as a soundtrack sober and powerful, marrying each step of this work which was named "Being Human being".
It soon became clear that the sound of this project was to be an album. Enki was immediately offered his services for the album cover, while Murcof and Erik reworked and edited the most relevant original extracts, those who best expressed the scenario drawn by Enki Bilal.
Meanwhile, this has resulted in creation of graphic concerts, where the three protagonists were accompanied live by alternately MAHUT (percussionist) and Philippe Garcia (drums).

King Midas Sound is comprised of Kevin Martin (also known for his work under The Bug moniker), singer/poet Roger Robinson, and vocalist Kiki Hitomi. Their landmark 2009 debut Waiting For You on Hyperdub quickly established them as falling sonically somewhere between sub-electronic lovers' rock, dub and the bleakest, slowest mutation of narco hip-hop, while on the live front they were nestled somewhere between the apocalypse and FX-drenched, shoegaze laments. In both arenas they are known as a brooding sonic force. With a move over to Ninja Tune plus the release of 2013's lauded "Aroo" single and in particular its b-side "Funny Love” an even deeper sense of spaciousness began to set in. That track’s dramatic tonal shift acted as a catalyst for the idea of a conceptual collaborative project to be born. Hence this first edition (in a series of four), appropriately titled Edition 1

Looking even further back it does seems fitting that the person (Kevin Martin) who once curated a compilation called Isolationism is one of the key contributors behind this truly mesmeric examination of melancholy and desolation, Edition 1 features collaborator number one, Austrian guitarist / electronic musician Fennesz. His 2001 album Endless Summer was a swirling mix of electric tonal guitars and sweeping emotional shifts which inspired and sparked an admiration within Kevin and Roger to bring him on board. Utilizing improvised guitar tracks, samples, and unreleased material from Fennesz's archive, Edition 1 took shape within the KMS framework. In the wake of Kevin's last Bug album Angels & Devils, he wanted to create a record focused on kaleidoscopic sonic beauty, bathed in the bluest emotional lyricism. This record reflects the group’s past, present, and a truly extraordinary future.

Edition 1 is a tide coming in. A fog reaching out into nothing, and encapsulating everything. An ultimate parting note drifting into absolute loneliness, swept up in a sumptuously blurred, dronal haze. Hallucinatory tone poems of heartbreak, despair, disappearance, and displacement. Seductively spatial sketches of long goodbyes. Music to cling to or to be used to move past. Sounds set adrift on their own tonal plain and reigned back in by Roger & Kiki's complimentary, yet extremely different deliveries. Cosmic blues meets a siren’s song. A zonal re-examination of "It's Raining Today" or an audio representation of a Sugimoto "Seascapes" photo... A high water mark forever etched to memory.

Additionally, watch for these two sonic heavyweights and their no-holds-barred performance reputations to bring this collaboration to the live stage starting with European dates in the autumn.

Edition 2 through 4 to follow, with collaborators kept under wraps, each one to be a genre-stretching and boundary-pushing surprise, packaged with a conceptual continuity.
